The HGTag mobile app is compatible with a large number of Android and IOS devices but there are some requirements in terms of operating system version:
- For Android devices, operating system version 7.0 or higher is required.
- For IOS devices an operating system version 10.0 or higher is required.
These days most smartphones are equipped with NFC (Near Field Communication) technology. In a nutshell, it is a proximity-based wireless communication standard. Unlike Wi-Fi or Bluetooth, however, NFC interaction is limited to an extremely short range. Besides smartphones, you can sometimes find NFC on tablets, speakers, collectibles,…
If we add NFC tags to our products, they can only be scanned by phones that have this technology. In the following link we can find a list of devices that incorporate NFC technology, if we have any questions you can always consult the specifications of the terminal or the manufacturer’s website.

ARCore is Google’s platform for building augmented reality experiences. Using different APIs, ARCore enables your phone to sense its environment, understand the world and interact with information. Some of the APIs are available across Android and iOS to enable shared AR experiences.
If we use augmented reality (AR) of the HGTag platform in our products, it will only be visible on terminals that incorporate the ARCore platform. We can find the list of compatible devices in the following link.
